MY NEW PROJECT

LITTLE THINGS GET ME EXCITED USUALLY..

I am very much a goal driven person and need things to keep my mind ticking over and working towards.

So I am very excited to have discovered today www.postcrossing.com

This is a brill but simple idea. You sign up and get 5 addresses from around the world
to send postcards to. You then get 5 postcards from around the world back in return.

Little miss Sophie has suddenly become very interested in different nationalities and being as she is in a totally white British primary school- I despair on ways to get her introduced to different cultures about from CBeebies.

So tomorrow we will send postcards to Martyn in Australia, Hai-cheng in Taiwan, Lynn in America, Helen in Germany and Anita in Holland.

I hope to get a whole "world" of postcards for the children to learn about different people.

I have to say that this whole project really appeals to me because I really want my children to grow up with sense that they are "global" citizens. True, they are half Brazilian so will never really identify with being wholly British but I long for them to embrace the idea that no matter where they travel in the world , they will always be able to make a friend.
Carlos and I spent 7 months travelling around Europe in a tent when we first met and we have made some fab friends through our travels.

I hope this postcard project will mean we make some too.
